Welcome to Digital Imagery with Photoshop! This orientation will provide a brief overview of the class and the learning tools IÕll use to facilitate the class. Your primary link to the class is Desire2Learn. Most students will be familiar with this learning portal but if you arenÕt it will be your starting point for class learning material, discussion boards, dropboxes (where you submit work), quizzes and the gradebook. If you are registered for the class you will automatically have access to it through D2L.

Once you are in D2L your first stop will be announcements, which I will update once or twice a week to keep you posted on key events. Our class is based on weekly modules..there are 16 modules in our semester. Each module will have learning objectives and links to content, files and assignments, which you must complete during each module. Click on Content for a quick view of weekly content. In conjunction with the content in D2L we have a class website that has additional resources, syllabus and our gallery where your projects will be displayed. It’s very important that you view the syllabus which discusses my expectations for due dates, graded elements and grading criteria.

The class is based on Photoshop CC which is only available through the Adobe subscription service. You can subscribe to the Photoshop CC/Lightroom CC ($9.99) version or the Full Adobe CC version($19.99). Read the subscription details carefully. The required textbook, Adobe Photoshop CC Classroom In A Book provides our weekly self-paced lessons. It is available as the 2015 and 2017 editions. You may use either book, it will not effect your learning experience and key skills. The 2015 book is available through the bookstore, as is the recommended Adobe Photoshop CC Visual Quickstart Guide. You may choose to purchase digital versions or hardcopy through the various online book sellers. If you happen to find a "good deal", please share with the class through our discussion board.

IÕm looking forward to a creative semester!
